3 Marijuana Recipes that Take You Beyond Cannabis Brownies
April 20, 2018 - The Kitchen - Recipes
Thanks to the growing recreational legality of cannabis, it’s much easier to get your hands on a variety of different edibles. There are brands adding THC to products you may have never thought of as edibles possibilities, and the market has grown leaps and bounds from the classic brownie. While it may be fun to try all of these products, for many, the real enjoyment comes from creating their own. Several benevolent THC chefs have made this even easier, by sharing their top marijuana recipes with their subscribers.
The Youtuber Njchef is one such talented cannabis recipe creator, sharing his recipes in instructional videos. His channel also includes reviews of various cannabis products that give you a taste of what’s currently on the market. He’s got some great recipes for marijuana edibles posted to his channel, and he takes you step-by-step through the method behind each one, so you won’t be left in the dark.
To be able to cook with cannabis as much as he does, Njchef makes use of a special product called the Magical Butter Machine, which helps him make his infusions. This simple product gives you the oils or butter you need to make a lot of meals, but it’s certainly not the only way. There are loads of online recipes for Cannabutter or THC oil, which you can use to create the butter or oil used in his recipes if you don’t have this machine. However, it’s definitely a tool that will make your life easier, if you plan on cooking with cannabis as often as Njchef is.
Once you’ve got your gear prepped and ready to go, here are some delicious recipes to get your canna cooking adventure started:
Tennessee Fire Fried Chicken and Waffles
This is a recipe for the spice fans out there. This is meant to be a pretty fiery recipe, starting with his oil-based sauce, but if you’re not a spice person, Njchef ensures that this will work and taste great without the cayenne he uses for an extra kick. After explaining how to make the chicken, he moves on to the waffles, which he advises using your THC-infused oils or cannabutter in, to really get that stony kick. At the end of this recipe, you’re left with a sweet-and-spicy meal that can be served amongst your friends, for a new (and fun) experience. Some southern barbeque with a little bit of cannabis? Now that’s something you don’t often get from marijuana recipes.

Butterfly Shrimp Salad with Blueberry Vinaigrette
For this recipe, Njchef assures his audience that this recipe is hard to screw up (which is especially great, if you’re new to cooking). Starting with a quart of blueberries, he then adds in the balsamic vinegar, followed by the sugar. He suggests mixing those ingredients together, before squeezing in some lemon and (slowly) adding your infused oil. The lemon thickens everything up together nicely, to achieve the consistency you’re looking for in a dressing.
From this point, Njchef takes you through his order of adding the vegetables and other oils and seasonings, and, of course, the infused vinaigrette, before adding your shrimp and onion on top. This is a really colorful meal that you can make for yourself or for a party, and it’s a great way for marijuana edibles to move you into that state of THC relaxation, over an easygoing dinner.
Canna-Pesto Infusion
This simple pesto recipe is one you can keep and use as a great base for many different dishes. For those Italian food fans, this can definitely be useful to have around, if you want to entertain friends during a non-traditional pasta dinner. This recipe stays in the blender, so it’s incredibly easy.
You start with the olive oil and then add as much garlic as you’d like (based on your personal preferences). After blending these two ingredients together, it’s time for the basil. Because you’re using a lot of oil – both olive oil and infused oil – you may want to add a decent amount of salt, to ensure you end up with an excellent balance, rather than a strong oil taste. As always, you want to add the oil slowly, so that you get all of the THC. Once completed, you’ve got a pesto that you can use for all of your meals, sandwiches, and snacks. If you’re really feeling adventurous, Njchef even has a video for gnocchi marijuana recipes, in which he uses this pesto (if you need a little gourmet inspiration).
Home cooking videos are definitely changing, and these simple recipes provide a great starting point if you’re someone who appreciates good cuisine, as well as good cannabis.
